2023 Padel Championships

Following knockout rounds and a round robin format for the Women’s competition, the finals of the club’s first ever HSTC Padel Championships were held over the weekend of the 25th and 26th November. There were some fabulous matches played in very chilly temperatures, with enthusiastic support from a well wrapped up crowd! Saturday 25th November On Saturday in the Mixed final on Swiss court, Carolyn Rothwell and Mika Brown played Ann Welch and Andy Davis.

Richard Camrass Trophy award

The club’s Richard Camrass Trophy – for the best attitude junior player – has been awarded to Jack Cresswell, by Matt McTurk of Strive. Jack is a pupil at Harrogate High School and has been attending lessons at Spa for over six years. He has always shown a positive attitude and willingness to improve. He seemed genuinely shocked and pleased to win!

The ‘Stroke Club’ is – as the name suggests – for people who have been affected by a stroke, as well as their friends and partners. It takes place at the club on alternate Thursdays (pictured above) and gives them the opportunity to support and encourage each other over a chat and a drink. The Neurodiverse family fun session takes place on Saturdays. Families come along for fun games on one of the padel courts,
