Club Statement
The Trustees of Harrogate Spa Tennis Centre are pleased to announce the new management structure of the club which will take effect from 22nd August 2026.
Steve Plant, who has been acting as Interim Manager, will be taking on a permanent position as General Manager. This role will continue to be part time and the aim for the club is for him to look after the overall big picture of the club working alongside the trustees and staff and looking at the development of the club and partnerships moving forward. Steve will continue to be a coach for Strive Tennis and as the external tournament organiser at the club.
Lucy Reidford has been appointed as the new Centre Manager who will deal with the day to day running of the club and be the main point of contact for members. Lucy is our longest serving member of staff and has taken on several key roles in the interim period and shown excellent leadership and we are looking forward to Lucy bringing her new ideas to this key role. Lucy has been working part time but will be stepping up to full-time hours to take on this role.
Caroline Farrar has been appointed as the Assistant Centre Manager and will support the General Manager and Centre Manager in running the centre. Caroline has done a fantastic job during this Interim period and the club are excited by the new ideas she can bring to the club taking on a larger management position.
This structure more aligns with other larger clubs in the area as we look to progress into the future.

Steve, Lucy and Caroline plus all the Break Point staff have all stepped in and stepped up in what has been a testing period for all involved. The appreciation for their efforts from the Board of Trustees and myself personally, cannot be underestimated. I would also like to thank Jo Shippey at Platinum People for her guidance and patience on all the HR issues the past few months has thrown up.
Under the day-to-day management of Steve, Lucy and Caroline I am positive "Spa" will continue to develop the Centre without losing the DNA of what has made the Club the venue to play tennis and padel in Harrogate.
